Where Tradition Meets Innovation

FCTHS provides an innovative academic program with a variety of majors to meet students' diverse career and college interests. Students select from four Schools of Study that best suits their academic or career goals.

Within each School of Study, students choose to participate in one of the following tracks. Each program is geared toward our students' success in education after graduating from FCTHS.

Comprehensive Traditional Program

At FCTHS, we expect all students to perform at high levels. The Comprehensive Traditional Program is a high-standards curriculum that follows Kentucky Core Content.

Honors Program

The Honors Program incorporates a more challenging college-preparation sequence with extensive reading and writing activities. Students must remain in the program and maintain a 2.75 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale to remain in the program.

Advance Program

Students may choose advance studies in a single class or in multiple classes. To participate, students must pass the Advance Program screening test, have a teacher/counselor/parent recommendation, and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA.

10 Advanced Placement Courses

FCTHS is proud to offer 10 Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Students who take theses courses and then score well on the AP tests may receive college credit. FCTHS faculty members are specifically certified to teach Advanced Placement courses.

Bellarmine University Advanced Courses for Early Success (ACES) and Other Dual Credit Opportunities

Juniors and seniors may enroll in college courses through Bellarmine University and receive low-cost, dual credit while attending high school. FCTHS also offers dual credit in Pre-Calculus through the University of Louisville.
